Even though no one
else in the family was particularly
horse-oriented, Christy’s
interest in horses continued to grow.
She began taking lessons
at a local stable, enjoying riding
Morgan and Arabian mounts.
A few years later, her first
full-fledged horse, an AQHA gelding
named Royals Benefit (aka Wonder) joined
the family.
After purchasing
her gelding, Wonder, Christy
focused on showing
western horses. She experienced much success in
the show ring
including being named the Iowa State Fair 4-H
Champion in Senior
Western Horsemanship, the Iowa Quarter Horse
Association High
Point Youth 14-18 Horsemanship, an All-American
Quarter Horse
Congress Semi-Finalist in Showmanship, and
competed at the
American Quarter Horse Youth World Show. In
2003, Christy
expanded to the Paint Horse World when she
acquired her first
American Paint Horse, a red dun overo weanling
with blue eyes.
Christy’s professional experience includes
founding the web site
and graphic design company, Web Wrangler Design.
The company
began as an outgrowth of a simple website that
she created for
the Iowa Quarter Horse Youth Association in
1999.
Web Wrangler
Design now provides web site design, graphic
design, marketing
strategies, and photography services. Though
primarily focused
on the equine industry, the company also
provides services for
lawyers, banks, investment companies, and many
others.
The Midwest Stallion Directory was founded in
2004 when Christy
found herself in the middle of a search for her
AQHA World Show
mare, Good Time For Candy, an own daughter of
Zippos Mr Goodbar.
After spending much time thumbing through varied
media sources
in search of the perfect stallion, the idea for
a comprehensive,
one-stop source of stallions in the Midwest was
formed. The
Midwest Stallion Directory website was launched
in 2004 and the
first print publication went to press in 2005.
Christy currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri
with her
whippet, Zach, and cat, Poly. In addition to
working for the
Midwest Stallion Directory, she is an
accomplished musician and
enjoys teaching saxophone, flute, clarinet, and
piano lessons.
In September, she will marry her fiancé,
Tristan, who also enjoys
showing horses on the APHA and AQHA circuits.
The two operate
Lovenduski Show Horses.
Christy is photographed
with her 2004 AQHA Filly, Kiss Me Good Nike. The filly is sired by Northern Nike
and out of Good Time For Candy.
"Taffy" was a top ten finisher in the
