The Appaloosa Horse Club will issue new
registration certificates to owners who
apply for Foundation Pedigree Designation (FPD)
and the Generational Advancement Program
(GAP).
To designate a horse FPD, the ApHC has
adhered a sticker with an image of Chief
Joseph and the FPD percentage to the horse’s
certificate. With the implementation of the
GAP in January 2006, the ApHC realized that
an additional sticker would clutter the
certificate, particularly on those already
bearing DNA stickers and inspectors’ stamps.
To maintain a professional appearance on the
registration certificates, the ApHC is
reprinting them to include the FPD and GAP
designations, which will appear to the right
of the foal date and eliminate the need for
stickers for both programs. If DNA is on
file for the horse, that will also be added
to the description line.
